Accessibility on board the CDG Express

Access on board

Boarding facilities designed to enable passengers with reduced mobility to travel without relying on external assistance.

Each train is equipped with an integrated gap filler. Wheelchair users can board and alight independently, without the need for staff assistance or the use of a ramp.

Dedicated PRM areas on board

PRM areas in each train allow wheelchair users to move around easily.

  • On the platforms and in the dedicated areas, a turning space with a diameter of 1.50 m allows for a full U-turn. The absence of any level changes ensures a safe, level, single-level route from the platform to the PRM area.
  • The train’s carpetedflooring provides a non-slip surface for passenger safety.
  • The PRM spaces on board offer two distinct configurations:
    • Passengers can remain in their wheelchairs without needing to transfer. A power socket and an emergency button are easily accessible from their seat.
    • A transfer from the wheelchair to the PRM seat is possible. A luggage space is located nearby. Comfort features — power socket, emergency button, table — are accessible from the seat, with the wheelchair able to be positioned nearby.

On-board toilets

  • Access: the toilets, next to the PRM seats, are fitted with an automatic sliding door allowing a wheelchair to pass through. The door opening system is easy to operate whilst standing or seated. Unlocking is indicated by an audible and visual signal.
  • Facilities: The toilets are equipped with a washbasin, a soap dispenser, a waste bin, a hand dryer and an emergency call button, all accessible to wheelchair users. Handrails and a side support bar, identified by a graphic symbol, are installed to facilitate movement and provide support.

Wheelchair compatibility

Certain wheelchair dimensions may restrict access to PRM areas on board. Minimum technical requirements, defined by the PRM Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI), may impose constraints on non-standard models.

If you have any questions about the compatibility of your wheelchair with our PRM areas on board the CDG Express, please do not hesitate to contact us via the contact form available on our website.
